Caring for Your Newborn
Postpartum Support, Newborn Care & Birth Trauma Resolution
The early days after birth can be both beautiful and overwhelming.
Some families arrive here because their newborn is unsettled, feeding feels harder than expected, or the transition into parenthood feels intense. Others sense that the birth experience itself — for baby, parent, or both — needs time, care, and support to process and integrate.
At Early Beginnings Wellness, we offer calm, trauma-informed postpartum support that recalibrates the nervous system, honours what has been experienced, and helps families find steadiness in the early days.
How We Support You
Postpartum & Newborn Support in the Early Weeks & Months
Our work together may support you to:
Help your newborn settle and regulate more easily
Support nervous system recovery after birth
Gently integrate challenging or unexpected birth experiences
Strengthen parent–baby connection and attunement
Feel more confident and resourced as new parents
This support may be helpful whether challenges are practical, emotional, or rooted in how your birth experience unfolded.
Integrative Modalities
Support is tailored to your needs and goals, and may include:
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)
for newborns and parents, supporting nervous system regulation and birth processing & integration
Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology
informed support to gently explore birth experiences and early stress responses
Secure Attachment Parent Coaching
to support attunement, confidence, and responsive caregiving
Lactation Guidance assessment, tongue-tie screening, & supportive strategies
BCST may be offered:
in person (where possible)
alongside online support
or in collaboration with a trusted local practitioner
Birth Trauma Resolution
Not all birth experiences feel complete or settled right away.
You may notice:
a weight of sadness & grief
feelings of disappointment and possibly anger
heightened stress or anxiety
emotional numbness or overwhelm
difficulty settling
difficulty connecting
a sense that something remains unfinished
Early, gentle support can help parents and babies process what was experienced — and have an opportunity to reconnect, name what needs acknowledging and healing so the whole family can recalibrate together.
Our work together focuses on creating a sense of safety, attunement, openness to insights, co-regulation, resolution and integration.
Support After Perinatal Loss
Some families arrive here carrying grief from miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, whether recent or in the past.
This kind of loss can deeply affect the nervous system, the heart, the body, the womb, and the relationship between couples — especially when it is not fully acknowledged or supported.
At Early Beginnings Wellness, we offer compassionate, trauma-informed support for parents navigating pregnancy and infant loss, including:
Emotional and nervous system support after loss
Gentle somatic care to support regulation and grounding
Supportive practices for couples grieving together in their own way
Attentive care during a pregnancy following a loss
This support honours your experience without rushing grief or imposing timelines.
You are not expected to “move on.” You are supported in being with what is.
Note: Support is grounded in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Secure Attachment, somatic care, and relational support.
Who This Support Is For
This journey is intended to be supportive if:
You’re noticing your newborn holding tension
Your newborn cries a lot and takes a long time to settle
Your newborn is having difficulty breastfeeding
You experienced a challenging pregnancy, a traumatic birth, or your baby was separated from you
You sense your baby or your body needs support with integrating birth
You are grieving a perinatal loss
Want trauma-informed care that honours and gently tends to disregulating events experienced by you and your baby
We recommend you seek support before grief and trauma get silenced or build up into a crisis that inundates your family. Early care and attention provide opportunities for profound healing and for joy to re-enter your world.
Every parent and infant has their own journey and pace for healing or integrating their experiences.
This work is about listening, supporting regulation, and restoring a sense of safety — for you, your baby, and your family as a whole.
If you’re unsure what kind of postpartum or newborn support would feel most helpful, a Discovery Call offers a calm, compassionate place to talk things through.
